Finger Lakes Graphics Specialties was created in 2003 to give
businesses a better, informed choice for marketing and signage.
Owner Ernest Woodward had worked for a number of years
as a graphic artist, columnist, and editor of a newspaper before
giving birth to the business.  It frustrated him that client after
client would come to the newspaper for advertising, but insist on
poor marketing strategies.  Big lists of products, gimmick slogans,
some cutesy font, poor grammar, and a lack of direction.  Then
after a few weeks they would claim the newspaper was ineffective
advertising, when all along it was their own poor marketing.

At the same time, it was a time of promise in the sign industry.  
Wide-format digital printing was beginning to show promise.  
New techniques in vinyl graphics were exciting and interesting.
And traditional signmaking techniques, like hand carving, gilding,
and brush lettering, were starting to make a comeback.

Putting years of graphic design and marketing into a sign shop 
was a perfect match.  In just a few short years, Finger Lakes Graphics
Specialties has the reputation of being a customer-oriented sign shop
with the knowledge and resources to help you grow your business.
